Our Honeymoon

OK so we finally figured out how to get pictures back on this blog- it has been way too long- and I have been bursting to share all of the stuff we have been doing. So I will start from the beginning- (Warning- this will be the longest post ever.) Josh kept where we were going on our honeymoon a secret from me. It was so hard for him not to tell me- it was funny watching him have a daily fight with himself about whether or not to tell me. After we left the reception he told me that we were just going down town for the first night, which I was so happt about! I knew that he had planned to take me somewhere a bit far away, and I was not reallt looking forward to the long drive- it was a long day! Everyone tells you how tired you are going to be - but you never really understand until it happens to you. We were beat. The first place was the Amber House in downtown Sacramento- this adorable bed and breakfast. Everything was redone in this old house - and it was beautiful! All of the rooms were named- ours was the Emily Dickenson room. We had a huge heart shaped jacuzzi in our bathroom, a fire place, and breakfast brought to our room that next morning. Hello- home made croissants! It was fabulous.

The next morning we headed off to Mendocino! I had never been there before- and let me tell you, it is one of the most beautiful places on earth! We stayed at the MacCallum House- right on the water- with amazing food and all of these fun little artsy shops. We went to glass beach and collected some souvenirs and watched the amazing waves. It was so beautiful, we did not want to leave.

Our room: The main house and grounds: Having scrumptious breakfast on the porch: The town: Glass Beach:

We only stayed for three days- but it was a welcome escape from life and all of the craziness we had been dealing with before the wedding. We were sad to leave and get back to reality. Post coming soon: our trip to Connecticut for our second reception!

Oh Gee, I am so happy for you, your honeymoon looked like a refreshing delight...to say the least. I like the idea of a more low key honeymoon, I mean your just in bed the whole time anyway...am I right? Congratulations again, loved your giggles and sighs as Josh scampers off the the shore line!!
