Mid-Week Treat

So this should have been posted last week- I made super yummy chocolate covered strawberries that I was planning on making on Valentines Day and just didn't have time for. So we just postponed it and had a little mid-week post valentines treat. They were not very pretty as my strawberry dipping skills are nil, but they were good- and we ate all of them in one sitting. ALL OF THEM. Good thing we are training for the half marathon huh.

Valentines Day

This was the best Valentines Day I have ever had- I know that's a huge statement, but it really was. I spent all week trying to figure out what I was going to do for Josh. My good friend Bone Junior (see my side bar for her link) helped me come up with this idea. I think it came out pretty darn cute.

In case you can't tell what it is :) It's a box filled with 100 reasons I love Josh and Riesen's candy. I covered the box with pictures of us and felt all crafty and accomplished! There really are 100 reasons in there- and let me tell you, it was pretty challenging to come up with 100 reasons that are not repetitive. But I did it and was proud! Then I came home on friday night to this :

Plus Josh had made me a delicious dinner and bought my favorite ice cream- is he great or what? Then we watched The Office on our own TV and fast forwarded through commercials- it may seem a trivial thing to those of you who have never gone without TV, but it pretty much topped off our Valentines Day Eve.

Then in the morning I made yummy breakfast and Josh surprised me again with these!

They are pictures from Ikea that I loved when we were there the other day. Josh totally remembered and went back to buy them and frame them for me. They have all sorts of French desserts written across each picture and are perfect for our kitchen. Then later we went out for dinner to our favorite Sushi place. It was really a Valentines Weekend Extravaganza if you will- not just one day. It was so great and I really do believe that I married the best man and the most perfect man for me.

Tagged: 6 Random Things

My sister-in-law (I love that I can say that!) Jylare tagged me. I usually never fulfill tags, I am just too plain lazy. But I love Jylare and today I feel like procrastinating paper work. So here goes:

6 Random Things

1. We are finally getting cable today. We have been married for a year next month and have lived without cable the whole time. I pretty much know all of our movies by heart at this point. But I am so psyched for TV and DVR!!!!!!!

2. Josh and I are going to try and run a half marathon. Ok not try- we are going to find one, register and train for it! (I am trying to be excited).

3. I am learning to play tennis and golf.

4. I am seriously anal about the way my popcorn is prepared. You can't just pour all the butter on at one time- It's an art people!

5. Now that I'm married , I rarely want to go out and do stuff. Mostly I want to just be at home in my sweats cuddled up with Josh. I think I am making up for all of those horrible singles activities I went to for so long.

6. I hate trying to lose weight. IT STINKS.

I tag: Marie Stott, Liz Baker, Julianne Eggenberger and Pamy Lee. GO!

Week 4

- 2 lbs. Pretty good since I ate like crap this week! I have been in trainings so much for my new job and they always have breakfast and lunch served for us. I am horrible at resisting free goodies. I have this huge internal battle like I have an angle on one shoulder and a devil on the other "eat the cookie! It will taste so good and you deserve it for sitting in that hard chair doing training all day long!" and "Don't eat the cookie! You don't need it and you have been trying so hard, don't undo all of your work so far! You can do this!" More often than not the devil wins.
