Family Time! (part one)

We got lucky this past week and got to have some much needed family time. I went to Utah for the weekend and got to experience the Odgen rodeo (quite the experience I assure you), Jylare's baby shower and my brother in the lead role in Singing in the Rain (he was amazing- better than Gene Kelly- no really.) It was so fun being back in Utah again- I even got to see Erin and Sarah while I was there. (Send me those pictures girls!)

I took this with my phone- not the best, but the best I have.

Then my parents and sister Heidi came to Sacramento for the week. We went to San Francisco, Monterey, Capitola and Carmel. Seriously the most beautiful places in the world!

These squirrels were hilarious! Begging fat little squirrels!

Just in case you were wondering :)

more to come.....

baby blankets

I've been a baby blanket making fool lately. The first was for my sister and brother in law's new adopted baby boy.

The second was for my new niece!! Hope there was no mistake that she's a girl, because that blanket is PINK :)

Can't wait to make one for myself someday!

watch dog

Josh's parents have a miniature schnauzer named Addie- she is the funniest dog with the prissiest personality. Such a priss! Josh calls her his precious soul, or sweet pea, or click, or "my girl". Think I should be jealous? Anyway, she keeps watch out of the front window of their house and the other night, the blinds were down. But she found a way to look out anyway- we were laughing so hard at this little face peering out from the blinds!

weekend update

we went to another River Cats game this weekend, but this time it was a family outing! It was 104 degrees- we were so hot! But we sat in the shade and by the end of the night it was pretty pleasant. Josh even caught a foul ball!

absent.

I never post because we have been "borrowing" wireless internet in our complex and pictures refuse to download. And really, what's a blog post without pictures. So here's a little update on our summer so far. We went to the local minor league "River Cats" baseball game. We had awesome seats and because we went on Saturday night, they have fireworks after the game! So fun!

A little cotton candy for me :)
We snuck in sandwiches to the ball park, and I had to be the "mule". I stuck the sandwiches in  the back of my pants under my jacket. I had ultimate ghetto booty and was so nervous about getting caught. But it worked out perfect! Here we are enjoying our contraband sandwiches. They tasted gooood!

My good friend Jenn Dunn got married and looked so beautiful. She married a great guy and it was so wonderful to see her so happy with someone who loves her so much. Her dress was gorgeous!

burger making...   (notice his hot new Andy Roddick hat??)

Peach pie making...
eating out at "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" recommended restaurant "Jaime's" in down town Sacramento. Josh had the yummiest bbq. And of course we needed to take our picture next to Guy!

aaaaand..........

I cut off all my hair!

I have been wanting to do it for a while, and just didn't have the guts. So I finally pulled up my boot straps and did it, and I LOVE it! (and so does Josh). I am also back on the WW wagon- counting points and trying to lose more weight. I gained 4 lbs back after the last stint we did and felt like I didn't lose enough in the first place. Marriage has not been kind to my eating habits. So now I have lost 7 more lbs and am still going strong! My goal is 10 lbs by the time I go to Utah on the 24th to see my family. Keeping my fingers crossed! There will be more posting after my Utah trip and my family coming to visit us in Sac for a week. So much to look forward to- I can't wait!
