on a more positive note...
Sorry about that last whine fest. I'm trying to be more positive today...
Today- I jogged (rather, hobbled) 7 miles. It was rough. But I did it. And that's something to be proud of.
Go me.

That Place...
...that I'm trying to get out of. You know the one. The one where you can't find one good thing to say about yourself. You've gained those 10 pounds back (that were so hard to lose in the first place dagummit! and you should never have to lose the same weight twice!), your clothes don't fit and you are using elastics to extend the waist line on your favorite jeans (and no I am not pregnant- just chubby). I am trying to stay away from the "f" word (you know..... fat). It's hard.
We are training for a half marathon again- it's 6 weeks away and I'm scared that I wont be able to do it. My confidence is pretty much zilch at this point- probably because I can't pull myself out of "that place" and actually work out. But I am trying. I jogged 5 miles today, and if I had gone any slower I would have been crawling. But I felt better about myself afterwards.
I blog stalk this blog called "Love to Run" and this post totally expresses how I feel/what I need to do- just in a more positive way. Which, by the way is a new years resolution that I sometimes remember that I made. (Usually when Josh reminds me- be more positive).
That's all I have to say today.

a really late christmas post...
Luckily while we were in Utah for Christmas, I got to see my bosom buddy Bone Junior. And as always she did not disapoint. I am used to receiving kooky awesome gifts (ie: a pillow case with a large iron on of her face)- but this one takes the cake as they say.

A Jonas Brother's Tote! Who is more lucky than me??? No one I say.

I apologize for the blurry pics, my flash was off the whole time (boo)

Merry, Merry...
We went to Utah to be with my side of the family for Christmas, it was a blast. It's hard to be back in Sacramento so far away from family. Someday we'll live nearby....
Temple square lights, the Tabernacle and the Eichelbergers!

We got to see Heidi in her show at the Hale Center Theatre- "A Christmas Carol"- she was adorable and had the best English accent out of everyone ;)
Basting out Christmas Turkey- yum!

And of course lots and lots of time with Scarlett, in her many adorable moods and outfits. (I barely took any pictures during the whole trip (dumb) so some of these I borrowed from Jylare's blog - as usual).

She laughed for the first time while sitting on Josh's lap- he feels pretty special.

as you can probably tell she wasn't put down the entire week- she had us all wrapped around her little pinky (as we should be, I think). It was a wonderful week and we are excited to go back to Connecticut for next year's Christmas (already counting down!!!).
We also have made it a tradition where ever we go to visit places from "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" since we love that show so much. We went to Pat's BBQ is Salt Lake and we were not disappointed- so yummy!

Tahoe!!
The weekend after Thanksgiving, we went up to Tahoe with Josh's sister, her husband and their new little one Dean. We had a fabulous time at Sunny's client's condo at a resort there (heated pools, hot tubs, ice skating rink, incredible gym, ski lift and awesome sledding hill) we had so. much. fun. We watched movies, sat by the fire, slept in an amazing bed and watched the beautiful snow fall. It was a great way to start the Christmas season.
I got to hold the little guy while his mom and dad went sledding- he is to die for!

Catch up
So I thought I better catch up on blogging before Christmas and New Years pictures start building up. In October we went to see the newest edition to our family - little Scarlett Jylare. We got to spend lots of quality time holding, snuggling, kissing and swooning over her every yawn and sneeze. She is to die for! We also got to see my brother bless her in church, which was very special, and totally surreal! We went to downtown Disney, the Huntington Beach Pier (ate at Ruby's) and generally just hung out and had some quality family time.
I pretty much can't wait to see her again in a week and a half when we are all in Utah for Christmas. I don't know how I am going to make it through this last week of work before we leave. Josh's final is on Monday morning and he's done for over a month before he starts his 2nd semester. I remember how wonderful that feeling was- last final before Christmas, sigh. Who knew having a "real job" wouldn't be as fun as I thought it would. Hooray for Christmas vacation in 5 days!!!
At the pier...

Seriously- this kills me...
Proud mama and daddy after the blessing at church.
Yes she is hugging me- because she LOVES me!!

The whole family after the blessing.

this last pic was taken by Scarlett's mama- but it is so darn cute, I had to post it. Look at that smile!!
